The Commons at Rogge Road
Rogge Commons was the brainchild of Don Chapin who desired to provide affordable housing to his employees and other members of our community’s essential workforce who find it so difficult to afford to own a home in Monterey County. Don invested in the development approvals for this pilot project, which is one of a kind in offering 100% affordable housing privately funded and without government subsidy. Don wanted to keep the development locally owned and ensure that his originally vision would be properly implemented. As a result, he chose Woodman Development to implement his vision and we acquired the property from him in late 2006 with a commitment to maintain his oversight of its execution. Don Chapin will install all of the site improvements and own the apartments; Woodman will own, build and sell the homes. Both companies are known for their exacting standards of excellence and value.
